Configuring your Behaviour Profiler

How to configure your Behaviour Profiler !
Before using your Behaviour Profiler for the first time, some configurations will be needed. In all, 5 steps will require some of your time :
Configure your team
Your Profiler needs to know who is on your school, he wants to learn your staff's name, email who has permission.
Estimation : 1 minute per member
Configure your sanctions and interventions
This is the heart of your new system. You must enter the various sanctions and interventions offered by your school in order to change students behaviours according to your code of conduct.

Estimation : 1 minute pas sanction/intervention ... 30 minutes
Configure Behaviours
You shall enter all behaviour found in your code of conduct. Each behaviour may be associated with up to 15 sanctions/interventions. This step takes time... but it will save you many hours later.

Estimation : 3 minutes per behaviour ... 90 minutes
Configure Detentions / Community Work / IEP/At-Risk-Meeting time table
In a few clicks, you shall configure your detentions, community work and IEP/At-Risk_Meeting schedule.

Estimation : 10 minutes
Import your student database
This step may vary widely. A guide is designed for you. You can find it by clicking on the icon from the Configuration menu. The school's technician might become your best friend.

Estimation : The first time, expect to spend 1 hour.... the second time 5 minutes.
When completed, please send an email to tech@profco.ca and ask that one of our team members of ProfCo validate your configuration. At anytime, you may also send your questions to tech@profco.ca. We do our best to answer with 24 hours.

A Story About Progressive Discipline
Ms. Miller sends Tyler and Justin to the main office for being late to class. According to Ms. Miller, the two students were late for the same reason : they were at their lockers getting books.

As the administrator, you can give the same consequence to both students. Your logic is that the same action warrants the same sanction. But is this fair? Research indicates that progressive discipline is a far better approach. How can you do this effectively? The answer is simple: use the Behaviour Profiler to track behaviours.

As you can see, Tyler was sent once to the office for being late, Justin twice.
In all fairness they should not receive the same consequence. In our scenario, Tyler is given a Warning, while Justin receives a Detention. A call home is made to notify Justin’s parents.

In addition, the Behaviour Profiler allows you, the administrator, to electronically report the situation’s outcome to Ms. Miller. This can be done in less than five minutes.

With the Behaviour Profiler you can say 'goodbye' to a disorganized paper trail and say 'hello' to well-organized, electronic student profiles.
What is a School-License ?
Buying a school-license gives you much more than buying a regular software at $75 to install on one workstation. When acquiring a license from the Behaviour Profiler, you get a permission to use our software everywhere in your school and at home for your staff. Let's look at a average school (250 students, a staff of 15 and a principal), obtaining a $75 software would cost around $ 1,200 (16 x $ 75) not including a technician and purchasing the updates. With ProfCO, the basic cost is $ 330 including installation and all updates.
